What’s doing on Friday 10th August? Future Direction Network (FDN) announces a charity luncheon held in its name by Canley Heights RSL on Friday, 10th August 2012. The charity luncheon will feature Mario “The Falcon” Fenech and Darryl “Big Marn” Brohman, with entertainment also provided by magician Jackson Aces and hostess Charlotte Rhiane. Former Australian cricketer Len Pascoe is the MC for the event.
The luncheon will begin at 12pm. Tickets cost $50 each, or $450 for a table for 10. This includes a lovely three-course meal and four drink tickets. Tickets can be purchased from Canley Heights RSL.
Funds raised from the luncheon will go towards establishing a scholarship to assist students in South-West Sydney to attend university. FDN Chairman Corey Payne believes the luncheon is a great way to show support for increasing focus on tertiary education in South-West Sydney.
“FDN is in the process of establishing a scholarship fund, with the aim of providing three $6,000 grants to students in South-West Sydney each year to help them with the cost of going to university and maintaining a vibrant student experience. With a great three-course meal, four drink tickets and an afternoon with The Falcon and Big Marn, I think the recipe is complete for a lovely Friday afternoon with your family, friends, colleagues or clients”, Corey said.
In the lead-up to the luncheon, FDN have launched the Scholarship Fund Raffle. First prize includes:
• A double pass to the Baa and Bobcat lunch (Bulldogs home game) to either Round 24 (Bulldogs vs. West Tigers) or Round 26 (Bulldogs vs. Roosters) at ANZ stadium

Second prize is a Panasonic 47” LED LCD TV (retailing $1,749), third prize is six cases of various beers supplied by Lion Group and fourth prize includes:

The mission of Future Direction Network is to inform, educate and inspire youth from South West Sydney about the importance of attending university. This is to be accomplished through mentoring programs, career pathway planning and financial assistance (scholarships) mechanisms.
The Future Direction Network board of directors have all grown up in South West Sydney and gone on to study at university. Each director understands the challenges that students can face in progressing from high school to university and are dedicated to bridging the information gaps and demystifying the common misperceptions students from South West Sydney hold in regards to university study.
